Yatra One

About

Yatra One features angular cuts and open knots that reflect the brush-painted signage style of Mumbai's local railway. It includes a unique Devanagari brush angle in its Latin forms and offers basic Marathi alternates. This heavy weight display typeface is well suited for impactful headings and display uses.

Overview

Yatra One is a display typeface inspired by the hand-painted signage of Mumbai's local railway system. It supports Devanagari and Latin scripts, incorporating a distinctive brush angle in its Latin characters that echoes Devanagari calligraphy. The design preserves the idiosyncratic character of brush-painted signage through angular cuts and open knots, making it ideal for bold, high-contrast display applications. It also includes basic Marathi alternates to enhance regional typographic expression. For balanced typographic systems, pairing Yatra One with clean, modern sans-serif fonts for body text is recommended.
