Overview
Taviraj is a serif Latin and looped Thai typeface with a wide structure that ensures readability and legibility. It is well-suited for formal usage. Thai letters have thick and thin strokes, similar to the Latin, together with rounded and airy looped terminals. Taviraj is a nine-weight family that includes italics. The size and position of Thai vowel and tone marks have been carefully managed to enhance readability, legibility, and overall texture. The typeface balances delicate details in formal looped Thai styles, especially when expanded to heavier weights. Taviraj's design reflects a traditional Thai style called "farangses," blending cultural and historical influences in its form. This project was led by Cadson Demak, a type foundry in Thailand.
