About

Ruwudu is a serif typeface family supporting Arabic script languages of West Africa that use the Rubutun Kano style. It includes multiple weights and covers Arabic, Latin, and Latin Extended subsets. The font features smart routines to adjust character shapes and positioning for accurate script rendering.

Overview

Ruwudu is intended to provide a libre and open font family for Arabic script languages in West Africa that use the Rubutun Kano style. This font supports the characters known to be used by languages written in this style of Arabic script, but may not have the characters needed for other languages. Smart font routines automatically adjust the shape and position of characters to ensure proper script presentation. It includes four weights from regular to bold and supports Arabic, Latin, and Latin Extended character sets.
