Rozha One

About

Rozha One features extreme stroke contrast and a fat face Didone style, making it ideal for large headlines and poster graphics. Its Latin and Devanagari characters harmonize well in multilingual settings. The font includes 1,095 glyphs and supports conjuncts and ligatures for Devanagari. It performs best at large sizes on screen but can be used smaller in print.

Overview

Rozha One is a serif font family designed by the Indian Type Foundry, released in 2014. It supports Devanagari and Latin scripts with a distinctive high contrast between thick and thin strokes. The Latin letters have a fat face 'modern' style reminiscent of 19th-century advertising posters, with a high x-height that blends upper and lowercase letters visually. The Devanagari characters are crafted to complement the Latin design without appearing Latinized. Rozha One includes extensive glyph coverage for complex Devanagari conjuncts and ligatures. While optimal for very large pixel sizes on screen, it can be used at smaller sizes in print, starting around 16 to 18 points.
