About

Protest Riot is a single-weight display font that captures the raw, informal aesthetic of handmade protest signage. It is part of a larger project exploring various voices of protest typography, sharing spacing and kerning with related families to allow flexible expression without layout changes. It supports Latin, Latin Extended, Vietnamese, math, and symbol subsets, making it versatile for expressive display use.

Overview

Protest Riot is a display font family designed to evoke the spontaneous and informal nature of street protest signs. It features a single normal style weight and supports a broad range of Latin-based scripts as well as math and symbols. The font is part of a cohesive project where related families share identical spacing and kerning, enabling designers to switch between different expressive styles seamlessly without altering layout. This makes Protest Riot particularly suited for impactful headlines and expressive graphic design where a raw, hand-crafted feel is desired.
