Overview
Petrona is a serif typeface family designed to balance personality with clear legibility in text settings. Its uppercase letters feature heavy asymmetric serifs and inverted angles, while the lowercase maintains a large x-height and pronounced ascenders with smooth curves. Originally released as a single Roman style in 2011, it was fully redrawn in 2019-2020 to include a comprehensive range of weights, italics, and an extended glyph set supporting numerous Latin languages. The family also includes small caps, ligatures, alternate characters, and multiple numeral formats. As a variable font, Petrona allows weight adjustment across both roman and italic styles, making it well-suited for fine text typography in digital and print environments.
