Nova Cut

About

Nova Cut is a display font created about 14-15 years ago specifically for stone inscriptions, initially featuring only uppercase letters and digits. In 2010, it was digitized with added lowercase characters and basic signs, evolving into a family of seven fonts named Nova, each reflecting unique shapes. It is a single-weight, normal style font supporting Latin and Latin-Extended subsets.

Overview

Nova Cut is a unique display typeface that originated from inscriptions on stone, designed to convey a carved, chiseled aesthetic. It was initially limited to uppercase letters and digits but later expanded to include lowercase and additional glyphs. This font is part of a larger Nova family, which includes six other styles distinguished by their shapes, as well as a monospace variant. Its singular weight and style make it suitable for impactful headlines and decorative uses where a historic or engraved feel is desired.
