About
News Cycle revives the classic News Gothic style with a focus on legibility in large blocks of text and headline use. It supports a wide range of orthographies including Eastern European, African, Greek, and Cyrillic scripts, making it versatile for global use. The design balances traditional newspaper aesthetics with modern clarity.
Overview
News Cycle is a sans-serif typeface based primarily on a revival of the 1908-era News Gothic, the stalwart newspaper face from American Type Founders. It is designed for clarity and readability in large blocks of copy, while also performing well in headline sizes. The family extends support to cover more of the world's orthographies, including Eastern European and African languages, as well as Greek and Cyrillic alphabets. This project was led by Nathan Willis, a type designer based in Texas, USA.
