It is part of a broader multi-script project aimed at creating harmonious typefaces across Indian scripts without dominance of one script's features. The family is mono-linear and contemporary, designed for versatile use in both display and text settings, ensuring legibility and a neutral tone across languages. Mukta Vaani was designed by Noopur Datye and Pallavi Karambelkar with support from Sarang Kulkarni and Maithili Shingre, under the Ek Type collective based in Mumbai.
