About

Modern Antiqua is a display font created around 1995, initially designed for stone inscriptions. It draws its design from Roman square capitals and originally included only uppercase letters and digits. Later, lowercase letters and symbols were added to complete the set. The font is available in a single normal style weight and supports Latin and Latin-Extended subsets.

Overview

Modern Antiqua is a display typeface rooted in classical inscriptional letterforms, reflecting the aesthetics of Roman square capitals. It was developed by Wojciech Kalinowski as part of his professional work with stone inscriptions. The font began as an uppercase-only design and was later expanded with lowercase and additional symbols. It is offered in one weight and style, suitable for decorative and display purposes.
