About

League Gothic is a revival of the Alternate Gothic typeface designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1903. It is a condensed sans-serif display font updated by the League of Moveable Type with contributions from several designers. The font supports Latin, Latin-Extended, and Vietnamese scripts and includes a variable width axis for flexible design.

Overview

League Gothic is a revival of an old classic: Alternate Gothic. Originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company in 1903, it was later revived and updated by the League of Moveable Type with contributions from Micah Rich, Tyler Finck, Dannci, and Mirko Velimirovic. This sans-serif display font features a single weight with a variable width axis, supporting Latin, Latin-Extended, and Vietnamese character sets. It is well suited for impactful headlines and display use where a condensed, vintage aesthetic is desired.

Designers: Tyler Finck, Caroline Hadilaksono, Micah Rich
