Katibeh is a headline display typeface inspired by the Naskh Arabic script with influences from Thuluth, featuring small serif-like outstrokes that evoke an archaic feel while incorporating modern elements. It includes ligatures familiar to Arabic and Persian readers, supporting comfortable extended reading. The Latin component is designed to harmonize visually with the Arabic, making Katibeh suitable for multilingual texts.
Overview
Katibeh is a display font based on the Naskh script, infused with qualities of the Thuluth script. Its small serif-like outstrokes recall archaic designs, balanced by contemporary touches. The font supports Arabic and Persian ligatures for readability in longer texts. Uniquely, Katibeh includes a Latin typeface scaled to complement the Arabic, facilitating harmonious multilingual typography. This project is led by KB Studio, a Los Angeles-based design studio.
