About

Hind is a sans-serif font family crafted with humanist letterforms and monolinear strokes, optimized for legibility in UI design. It supports both Devanagari and Latin scripts, with carefully scaled characters to harmonize the two. The family includes five weights and features open apertures and flat stroke endings for clear counter forms, making it suitable for electronic displays and multilingual text.

Overview

Hind is an Open Source sans-serif typeface developed explicitly for user interface design, featuring five weights from light to bold. Its humanist-style letterforms combine monolinear strokes with flat endings, enhancing legibility and creating distinct character shapes. The font supports Devanagari and Latin scripts, with the Devanagari base characters scaled to complement Latin capitals and lowercase letters. It includes 1146 glyphs, covering major languages using Devanagari and Western European languages in Latin. Hind balances traditional Devanagari vowel marks with contemporary knotted terminals, making it a versatile choice for digital and print environments.
