Overview
Gemunu Libre is a sans-serif font family crafted to support both Sinhala and Latin scripts with clarity and style. It improves upon its predecessor FM Gemunu by offering more breathing space, larger counters, and smooth, uniform curves, all while maintaining a distinctive square-edged aesthetic. This design approach ensures excellent readability on digital screens and web platforms. The family includes seven weights ranging from 200 to 800, providing flexibility for various design needs. Each weight contains a complete set of Sinhala characters alongside matching Latin letters, facilitating cohesive multilingual text settings. The project was led by Mooniak with contributions from Pushpananda Ekanayake and Latin design by Sol Matas.
