About
Fustat combines a modernized Kufi style Arabic script with a low-contrast, geometric Latin sans serif, supporting extensive OpenType features and a wide range of weights. It is optimized for web use and versatile for titles and body text, making it suitable for authentic, contemporary bilingual branding and design projects.
Overview
Fustat is a variable sans-serif font family designed to harmonize Arabic and Latin scripts. The Arabic component draws inspiration from traditional Kufi manuscripts, balancing authenticity with modernization, while the Latin design features a simple grotesque structure with geometric influences and a high x-height for readability across sizes. The family includes seven predefined weights from ExtraLight to ExtraBold and supports numerous OpenType features such as stylistic sets, proportional and tabular digits, super/subscripts, and fractions. Its extensive language support and dual-script design make it ideal for bilingual projects requiring a strong, contemporary identity with cultural resonance.
