Blaka Ink

About

Blaka Ink is a unique experimental display font that merges the geometric sharpness of Black Letter Latin characters with the Kufic style of Arabic script. It features hand-drawn qualities reminiscent of reed pen strokes, with Latin forms showing sharp edges and Arabic forms using thick overlapping strokes instead of a baseline. This color font variant uses COLRv1, CPAL, and SVG tables, offering vibrant multi-color glyphs primarily supported in modern browsers.

Overview

Blaka Ink is a single-weight display typeface designed to enrich the gothic Black Letter style by integrating geometric elements and Kufic-inspired Arabic letterforms. The Latin characters maintain sharp edges, while the Arabic script employs thick strokes and overlaps to create a contemporary aesthetic. The Ink variant introduces color fonts with built-in color definitions, enhancing visual impact in supported applications. It supports Arabic, Latin, and Latin Extended scripts and is best suited for expressive display uses where a bold, artistic presence is desired.
