Athiti

About

Athiti combines humanist calligraphic influences with traditional Roman letter construction, featuring organic shapes and a balance of strength and softness. It supports Latin, Thai, and Vietnamese scripts across six weights, suitable for both formal and informal contexts. Special attention to stroke contrast and vowel positioning enhances readability and texture, making it a thoughtful choice for educational and mixed-content design.

Overview

Athiti is a sans-serif typeface family that blends informal loopless Thai letterforms with Latin characters inspired by humanist calligraphy. It offers six weights from 200 to 700, all in a normal style, supporting Latin, Latin-Extended, Thai, and Vietnamese scripts. The design emphasizes organic curves contrasted with angled inner counters, creating a friendly yet strong appearance. Careful management of stroke thickness and vowel placement ensures legibility and texture, particularly in Thai text. Athiti works well for a variety of uses, including headlines and body text, and suits both formal and informal content. Designers should note some glyph similarities in Thai that may require attention in short texts. The family is not variable and was created by Cadson Demak, a Thai type foundry.
